PREVENTATIVE CARE
These are general guidelines for preventive care measures that you should take to minimize disease or illness in your herd.
Note: From both health and implementation standpoints, vaccination programs work best when customized to your individual operation. For this reason, we recommend that you contact us to set up an appointment to discuss your vaccination schedule.
Required vaccines:
- Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis virus (IBR)
- Parainfluenza-3 virus (PI3)
- Bovine Viral Diarrhea virus (BVD)
- Bovine Respiratory Suncytial Virus (BRSV)
- Clostridial 7-Way
- 5-Way Leptospirosis
- Campylobacter fetus (Vibriosis)
Optional vaccines:
- Bovine papilloma virus (wart)
- Moraxella bovis ("pink eye")
- Salmonella dublin
- Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis virus (IBR) intranasal
- Brucella abortis (Brucellosis or Bang's vaccine)
Recommended procedures:
- Bull fertility testing pre-breeding
Optional procedures:
- Bull trichomoniasis testing pre-breeding
- Pulmonary aterial pressure testing (PAP)(susceptibility to high altitude disease)
- Deworming
- External parasite control
